Nigerian
Foundries Limited has over the years made contributions towards
the socio-economic development of not only its workers but
the larger Nigerian society. These are in areas of Scholarship Award Programmes, Manpower Development as well Social Welfare for staff
and non-staff alike. Other areas include financial assistance to
institutions of learning, welfare organisations, NGOs and Staff Long
Service Awards.
Manpower
Development
Training opportunities ranging from 3 to 12 months are offered to
students on Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), COREN
and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Through such opportunities,
students acquire relevant skills as well suitable grants to assist
in result oriented academic and research works. We offer placements
to NYSC members to serve while outstanding ones are offered
permanent employment. Science students in secondary and technical
schools, as well engineering students of higher institutions of
learning are encouraged through organized industrial visits /
excursions to our factory/foundry.

Sports
Participation
Our company has been very active in sporting activities in and
outside Nigeria. We participates in Polo and Golf tournaments and we
have won several medals in these sports. We also sponsor some of
these tournaments with participants from other African countries.

Donations are made from time to time to NGO’s, students
associations, voluntary, welfare and socio-cultural organizations.
This has drawn our company closer to the rural populace in Nigeria
and their rich socio-cultural heritage.

Free Medical Care, Interest free soft loans/facilities and Family
Allowances form part of the social welfare package for staff. Others
include annual Long Service awards and periodic review

staff emoluments to cushion the effects of constant rise in cost of
living. Majority of our staff are being assisted to acquire higher
education in their chosen fields through a harmonized and well
orchestrated career development programme. Staff health is of prime
importance to us and this we ensure partly through workshops and
seminars on HIV/AIDS awareness, internal and
external safety trainings, as well provision of adequate safety wears in the
workplace.
Scholarship Awards
Several years
back, the company initiated a scholarship scheme for Metallurgical
students in two Nigerian Universities. A student on such scholarship
scheme recently graduated from the University of Lagos. Also, children of
our staff who gained admission into universities are also awarded
scholarships and many of them are still undergraduates in various
Universities in Nigeria.
